Dancing with the Stars: Week 8 (2011)

0

This week on Dancing with the Stars it’s instant dance week. Last season they started something called the instant dance. A week prior to the show they stars are notified of the dance they have to do but just 20 minutes before they do there instant dance they choose their song randomly and practice the dance as quickly as they can. But while they have to do an instant dance they also have their regular dance of the week. So who will make it to the top? Let’s discuss

Chelsea Kane and Mark Ballas: This week the Disney star danced the Waltz. It was such a beautiful dance and it gave me goosebumps. This girl is the best dancing star in the competition. While she deserves to win, Hines Ward seems to have the judges and the audience in his hands. Her waltz scored 29 out of 30 points.

Instant Dance: Chelsea and Mark danced the Salsa. For an instance dance it was really good. It had flavor and sass. No complaints from me; Only, that if the judges are going to pick apart someone’s dance and point out there mistakes, do it for EVERY dancer. There instance dance scored 26 out of 30 points. The score should have been higher.

Hines Ward and Kym Johnson: This guy is really getting on my nerves and it’s not even his fault. He can mess up a step or be really bad but the judges still love him. This week he danced the Foxtrot. I thought the dance was really, really bad. While the Foxtrot is mean to be an over exaggerated dance, his footwork was off and he was just terrible. He over acted too much. But the judges fail to criticize him. He scored 28 points.

Instant Dance: Ward danced the Jive for his instant dance. He messed up his steps but the judges didn’t have anything to say about him. They’ll point out something is someone’s dance that means nothing but he messes up and they don’t say crap. It was a fun jive but the judges need to be fair and stop favoring him. He scored 26 points.

Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy: Best dance EVER! She’s back and amazing! Kirstie danced the Argentine Tango and it was absolutely amazing. The dance was filled with passion and aggression. When I heard they were doing the Argentine Tango I though “Oh no, lifts.” But Kirstie looks amazing and everything about the dance was great. Go Kirstie. She scored 28 points, earning her first 10 of the season.

Instant Dance: For Kirstie’s instant dance she danced the Salsa. The dance was a lot of fun to watch. She definitely stood out this week. She scored 25 points.

Romeo and Chelsie Hightower: Tonight Romeo danced the Tango and he really proved he deserves to be on the show after last week’s horrible routine. The dance was super sexy and intense. He scored 27 points.

Instant Dance: For Romeo’s instant dance he danced the Salsa. The dance was fun and fresh and really didn’t deserve all the criticism he got for losing sync with Chelsie. It’s all about being fair and that’s what the judges aren’t; especially, Carrie Anne Inaba. He scored 25 points.

Ralph Macchio and Karina Smirnoff: Poor Ralph Macchio. Age has become a factor in this dancing competition and he has suffered a leg injury. It really is a shame but at least he’s not throwing his injury in our faces like Jennifer Grey did so obnoxiously last season. Despite his injury he came out and danced the Viennese Waltz. The dance was filled with intensity and was good considering the injury. He scored 25 points.

Instant Dance: I think anybody with an injury knows that you do what you can but you can’t push it. This instant dance really showed how bad Macchio’s injury really is. The dance was bad but he got through it and that’s what matters. But, even though he’s hurt he didn’tdeserve the 21 he got. The judges were a little bit too harsh on the scores and he should have at least gotten a 24 for getting through it. The judges seem to forget this is a reality dance competition not the real deal and when a star has an injury, he should be judged with the injury in mind, not be judged like a professional dancer.

So, many must be putting their money on Macchio being the star eliminated this week. The bottom two will definitely be Romeo and Macchio. After Kirstie and Hines performance this week, there is no way they are going home. I think it will be Romeo who gets eliminated because Macchio is loved by the audience and will probably get a sympathy vote.

I guess we’ll see.

Results

Well, as you can see Romeo is the star that goes home this week on Dancing with the Stars. The bottom two were Romeo and Macchio like I thought it would be but it was Romeo who got the boot. He left the show with a smile on his face. I saw this coming but I was hoping it didn’t happen. Romeo has opened himself up so much since starting the show and it’s been so much fun to watch. I enjoyed knowing he wanted to win and watching him put himself out there every week. He was a wonderful dancer and could have won,
but oh well.

Now that we are down to the final four, do any of your predictions change? I still think Hines will win, but not because he’s good but because he’s the favorite. I think either Chelsea Kane or Kirstie Alley deserve that Mirror Ball Trophy.

What do you think of tonight’s elimination?
