To all our Faithful Readers,

The Awards Circuit, in all its infinite glory has been a fantastic site in the making since May 2008.  Obviously before that, we were The Oscar Igloo but we know all that history.  In the past few years, we’ve struggled between the two corners of HTML and WordPress.  HTML, the way the site was before this re-launch, has been our identity for many years now.  Up until this change, we were pretty much the last remaining HTML Oscar Predictions site on the web.  Being HTML however, brings some baggage.  It takes far too long to update the site, leaving little time for the things that the readers really LOVE, which is of course, the predictions, Academy Idol, ACCA, etc..  These things have been taking a backseat to the HTML updating for months and months now.

We’ve tried this switchover one time before and it was a disaster.  Someone hacked in, unreliable server, you name it, it happened.  This time, I took the bull by the horns.  We hired a web-designer to keep our identity of HTML and apply to a blog type format that would have all the great things you all loved  at one point or another about The Awards Circuit.  We have our Forum, our own Forum, maintained strictly here and not through a third party.  Commenting for everyone to have their own, unique User Id’s to share their thoughts about anything, and of course, a great Predictions page that will be finished in the coming days.

I ask you to use these next couple of days to get used to the new site and learn your way around.  Register with the site, post some comments, start a conversation on the forum, anything you like.  Everything from this year’s articles, reviews, etc. are here, though not 100% beautiful in some aspects, but here in all its glory.  We will be updating regularly starting now, with the kickoff to the Toronto Film Festival where our own John Foote will be keeping a daily diary here on the site for all of you to read and enjoy.

I hope you guys and gals love the new site and I look forward to interacting with all of you these next few months of Oscar season and after.  THIS is the Oscar Season kick off @ The Awards Circuit!!!!!!!

Be Well,

Clayton Davis

  12. Ask me when I stop getting the “What you are looking for doesn’t exist” message every time I click on anything.
