    • The events of the previous week – as far as the Oscar season goes – were, shall we say, a complete and utter shitstorm.  Obviously the Ratner fiasco was the biggest thing on every Oscar-watcher’s mind for the past few days, but we at The Awards Circuit had plenty of other content for y’all despite that, such as:
    • Mike reported on my stunningly wrong box office predictions last week with the victory of Puss in Boots.
    • Speaking of top tens, I ran down a list of several notable historical figures that would be perfect for their own biopic.
    • Anna recapped the Country Music Awards and called shenanigans on Blake Shelton losing Entertainer of the Year.
    • Joey expressed his hope that Colin Farrell will continue to give In Bruges-caliber performances in the future.
    • His London Boulevard co-star Keira Knightley was also profiled in Anna’s Women in Cinema.
    • The Help submitted to the HFPA as a “Comedy?”  WTF?!
    • Finally, Academy Idol kicks off today!  This is arguably The Awards Circuit’s biggest event (besides the Oscars themselves, of course), so be sure to check in every week and get out the vote!  In the meantime, let us know what your thoughts are on this year’s contest.
