I would love to wake up every morning and already have my wardrobe picked out for me. I guess that’s the beauty of working in the movies. You get to wear all types of amazing outfits and they are all tailored for you and everything. It must be an even better feeling when the costume designers wake up on Oscar morning to find out that the hard work they put in paid off.

It is the job for the costume designer to properly come up with outfits that symbolize who a particular character is and to set the mood right for a certain scene. I think the following nominees did a fantastic job in completing this task.

And the nominees are:

Anonymous- Lisy Christl
The Artist- Mark Bridges
Hugo- Sandy Powell
Jane Eyre- Michael O’Connor
W.E.- Arianne Phillips Read more on Oscar Circuit: Best Costume Design…

If you thought the season two premiere was a big success, and it was at 37 million viewers, you won’t believe how stellar the second episode of The Voice is. Yesterday I said that The Voice may put a dent in American Idol’s impenetrable armor, but now I firmly think that armor may soon shatter with this season’s high quality of talent and unique voices. This episode was easily the BEST EPISODE of 2012 from a television program I have seen thus far. With interesting backgrounds (hello U.S. Air Force YouTube Singing Sensation) and winning personalities, the contestants who auditioned were more than meets their voice. I had issues with the lack of genuine personalities emerging last season, and I can finally say the casting department has delivered some legitimate contenders who are as interesting as they are vocally superior. With so many hits out of the ball park tonight, I felt like I was listening to a Michael Jackson Greatest Hits album. It was that pleasing to the ear. So that now I’ve totally unleashed my excitement, let’s highlight some of the contestants that were successful enough to garner a spot on either Team Blake, Team Christina, Team Cee Lo, or Team Adam. This week on the home video front, we don’t quite have the assortment we’ve been used to of late, but there are still some very solid options out there for Blu-Ray/DVD purchasing. Consider this a time to catch up on all of the recent home viewing goodness if none of these options tickles your fancy. I’m fairly confident something this week will have appeal to you all, so let’s get started. For my PICK OF THE WEEK, I went with what was clearly the best option for me. It’s also one of the finest documentaries of the year. You shouldn’t have any trouble guessing this one. It’s:

Project Nim

Sadly snubbed by the Academy, this hauntingly sad tale of what happens when you try to make an animal human won’t be competing for the Best Documentary Feature Oscar, but it’s still a very fine flick that’s well worth your attention. While not the best that filmmaker James Marsh has ever done, it’s still an incredibly effective piece of cinema. It didn’t quite catch on as the “must see” documentary of 2011 like some had thought/hoped it would have, but now that it’s available to view in the comfort of your own home, I assume many of you will give it a shot and see what you missed. In my humble opinion, you’ll be making a fine selection.

Ever heard of Gordon Ramsey? That great chef who goes into other people’s restaurants and completely takes it over? Ever heard of Tabatha Coffey? She is that amazing stylist who goes into other peoples salons and also takes over? Well now we have Paul Fisher, who is apparently a legend in the modeling industry, I know this because he says this on repeat during his first episode of Remodeled.

Are you there, Chelsea? has left me quite perturbed. I just don’t know how to feel about it. I know that I don’t like the show, I know that the jokes are weak and based primarily around sex, but I also know that given better writing material the show has potential, and can be better, a lot better.

I recently received an invitation to take a glimpse into “The Untold Story” of Spider-Man, and now that I’ve returned from the event I have a good idea of what it seems ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ will be like. As such, I feel confident in offering up some observations to you all. First, a quick rundown of the event (I only was invited a few days ago to attend, so it all went down very quickly). This went down all around the world, and at my New York event we were treated to some time with Andrew Garfield (Peter Parker), while Los Angeles got director Marc Webb, Rio de Janeiro had Emma Stone (Gwen Stacy), and London was treated to Rhys Ifans (Dr. Curt Connors/The Lizard). After a bit of small talk, the latest trailer was unveiled, followed by some more chatter and then an extended sizzle reel. The material consisted of some of the things talked about at Comic-Con last year, but a lot of it was new stuff. The new trailer was impressive and in 3D, while the clips were in 2D and some of the effects were still unfinished. I’ll get into the specifics in a moment below, but just so it’s out on front street…if you were worried about this reboot…don’t be. This is good stuff and likely going to be a supremely entertaining superhero flick.
