    About Joey Magidson

When he’s not obsessing over new Oscar predictions on a weekly basis, Joey is seeing between 200 and 300 movies a year. He views the best in order to properly analyze the awards race/season each year, but he also watches the worst for reasons he mostly sums up as "so you all don't have to". In his spare time, you can usually find him complaining about the Jets or the Mets. Still, he lives and dies by film. Joey's a voting member of the Internet Film Critics Association as well. Today the IFCA, tomorrow the world!

    2. I don’t think the Academy has awarded the right film for Cinematography since There Will Be Blood. The Tree of Life is above and beyond anything else in this category and it should be awarded the Oscar. As gorgeous as The Artist is, I just can’t see how it can prevail over ToL. I know I’m a huge fan of ToL so I tend to be biased, but this is the one category it really should have no trouble being victorious in. Even those who don’t like the film can’t deny the beauty it holds.

If any of the other films nominated were to win, I am going to be very disappointed.

      • This is the one category I have no issue with The Tree of Life winning, so I’m following this one very closely trying to figure it out.
