Trailer for Oliver Stone’s upcoming ‘Savages’

It’s not a huge stretch to say that Oliver Stone has been hit and miss over the last decade or so. He certainly hasn’t been working on the level with which we were previously accustomed to him being at, but perhaps that’s about to change. We have here the trailer for his new film ‘Savages’, a movie with a lot of potential and a great cast to boot. I don’t think the flick is going to be much of an Oscar player in the end, but it certainly looks like it could be a good time. Check out the trailer after the jump and decide for yourself where this might stand in terms of Stone’s career…

When he’s not obsessing over new Oscar predictions on a weekly basis, Joey is seeing between 300 and 350 movies a year. He views the best in order to properly analyze the awards race/season each year, but he also watches the worst for reasons he mostly sums up as "so you all don't have to". In his spare time, you can usually find him complaining about the Jets or the Mets. Still, he lives and dies by film. Joey's a voting member of Indiewire's Criticwire Network as well as the Internet Film Critics Association.

Doesnt look like anything new, probably a skip to me.

      Fair enough.

I don’t think it looks terrible but it doesn’t like a masterpiece either. I am optimistic that Benicio & Demain will bring something to the table that makes this film worth watching.

      We certainly shall see…

  • Jessie Makowski

Emile Hirsch! That alone gets my attention.

He seems to have a small part, but agreed there.

I don’t think this will be near the top of my Oliver Stone list…unless this turns out like another Natural Born Killers, but that doesn’t seem too likely. Blake Lively is just awful in anything.

I personally liked her a lot in The Town.
