Coming on the heels of the selection of films in competition, the organizers of the Cannes Film Festival have announced the jurors who be tasked with judging the films. The jurors include Ewan McGregor, Diane Kruger, Oscar winner Alexander Payne and other notable international film presences.
The complete list of jurors:
Hiam Abbass (Palestinian actress, director)
Andrea Arnold (British director and scriptwriter)
Emmanuelle Devos (French actress)
Diane Kruger (German actress)
Jean Paul Gaultier (French designer)
Ewan McGregor (British actor)
Alexander Payne (American director, scriptwriter and producer)
Raoul Peck (Haitian director, scriptwriter and producer)
This is a pretty eclectic group of people that Cannes has assembled to judge the films in competition. The strangest inclusion might be fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier, but he has worked with Pedro Almodovar, including last year’s The Skin I Live In and is a French icon. Overall, I think this a pretty solid group that Cannes put together. The jury will be presided over Nanni Moretti, an Italian film director, actor, and producer.
You can read the official bios for each of the jurors on the Cannes website.

Andrea Arnold should’ve gotten more praise for Fish Tank. The Jury seems fine to me.
