  • Trailer for ‘Beasts of the Southern Wild’ has arrived!

Does the Sundance hit look promising for awards attention?

    May 2, 2012

Beasts of the Southern Wild, the movie that took Sundance by storm this past January, has been selected to compete in the Un Certain Regard section of the Cannes Film Festival, so it was only a matter of time before we got a better look at the film. The newly released trailer after the jump shows a lot of the elements people raved about at Sundance: beautiful imagery, mythical elements blended with stark reality, and a breakout performance from lead actress Quvenzhane Wallis.

    Sexy New Poster for ‘Lovelace’

Amanda Seyfriend & Peter Sarsgaard set to star...

    May 2, 2012

Amanda Seyfried will be playing the legendary porn star Linda Lovelace in Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman’s biopic Lovelace. Here is a new, seductive poster for the film which co-stars Peter Sarsaard, Sarah Jessica Parker, Hank Azaria, Sharon Stone, Juno Temple, Adam Brody, James Franco, Robert Patrick, Eric Roberts, and more. There is no domestic release date yet set for Lovelace.

What do you think? Biopics often play right into the hands of Academy voters. Do you think Seyfried will have the stuff to propel her to her first Academy Award nomination? The role seems baity enough: a notorious adult-film star who suffers through a raucous lifestyle only to become an anti-porn spokesperson. If she nails it, you never know. Judging from the poster alone, she certainly nailed the sex appeal portion. Read more on Sexy New Poster for ‘Lovelace’…

Trailer for Aaron Sorkin’s latest show ‘The Newsroom’

Show premieres in June and stars Jeff Daniels...

    May 2, 2012

If you’re a fan of Aaron Sorkin like I am (yes, I even loved ‘Charlie Wilson’s War’ and ‘Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip’), then you’re eagerly anticipating his return to television, this time to HBO for ‘The Newsroom’. The idea of Sorkin taking on cable news with his trademark dialogue is positively delicious to me, and after the jump you can see the new trailer for the show (it dropped a few days ago, but we’ve been busy revamping the site and all, so apologies for the delay in posting this). Watch it below, but man oh man does it look like it could be good. Stay tuned for more…

Monday night on Dancing with the Stars it was Classical night and many rose to the top while few fell to the bottom. But it’s Tuesday night and someone must go home. Last night Maria Menounos topped the leaderboard with a perfect 30 and Melissa Gilbert remained at the bottom with a disappointing and underserving 21 points.

Tonight the two stars that had to battle a Rumba in the Dance Duel are Roshon & Jaleel.

Ok, this is how I feel. Read more on Dancing with the Stars: Week 7 Results…
