“One Last Thing Before I Go” Becoming a Film!

Jonathan Tropper's upcoming novel has already been optioned for a film adaptation...

One of my favorite authors working today is Jonathan Tropper, and I’m delighted that both his novels and his writing talents are beginning to make their way to the silver screen (his prior novel ‘This Is Where I Leave You is being made by Adam Shankman and he wrote the script for the remake of ‘Harvey’ that Steven Spielberg almost made). Deadline has reported here that Tropper’s next book ‘One Last Thing Before I Go’ has been bought by Paramount and Tropper himself will be writing the script, truly exciting news to me. After the jump, I’ll share the plot synopsis of the book/upcoming movie, but I must say that if you’ve never read one of his books…do yourself a favor and pick one up. It’s hard to imagine that anyone pegged Jonah Hill as an in demand dramatic actor just a few years ago, but it looks like his Oscar nominated role in ‘Moneyball’ has opened a ton of new doors for him. It appears that he’ll be DiCaprio’s friend and someone else who gets roped into the world of fast times and high finance. Hit the jump to read where I think Hill’s career is headed next, but in short…I love this casting choice.

Here’s the Trailer for ‘End of Watch’

Academy Award Nominee Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena star...

    May 5, 2012

Cop movies have been rather hit or miss of late, and considering how they now hit close to home for me (for those who don’t know, I was once on pace to become a New York City Police Officer and actually spent some time in the Police Academy as a Cadet), it’s going to take a lot to impress in the genre. I have no idea if ‘End of Watch’ will do that, but the cast and filmmaker have potential. There’s an interesting choice of cinematography on hand here too, so that might be something. After the jump you can see the Trailer for the flick, and decide for yourself…
