We’ve gone British!  I’d like to officially welcome our newest writer to the Awards Circuit family, Daniel Ashtiany.  A native of the UK, Daniel brings a unique style and substance to our site.  Daniel will be heading up operations from the London perspective and we are all quite excited to have him join our team (Can’t wait to have the accent on the podcasts! LOL).

    Here’s a little about him:

Bio: Born and raised in a small town south of Manchester, England, I feel very honoured and lucky to be joining the fantastic team at the Awards Circuit. Although I have a degree in Theology, and will soon be starting a new job in fashion merchandising, my passion is and always will be movies. It’s an addiction that runs deep, and one that I embrace wholeheartedly. My film tastes are broad although I warn you I have a weakness for the melodramatic, evident in the fact that I rank Almodovar as my number one director, and firmly believe that Bette Davis remains the greatest actor ever to grace the big screen. I sincerely hope that my position as the site’s London based correspondent will really add to the already sterling output of the team. I can’t wait to get stuck in!

    Welcome Daniel to the team!

    2. Welcome aboard, Daniel!
With a background in Theology, I’d love to hear your thoughts on The Tree of Life sometime. I bet you have an interesting take on that film.

    4. Now the Awards Circuit has its own Guy Lodge to bring in the perspective across the pond. Great to hear, and bonus points for loving Almodóvar. Looking forward to what you’ll bring.

    5. Hi everyone, thanks for the welcome! I’m so excited to be a part of such an amazing site! And regarding The Tree of Life, I basically just let it wash over me at the time without going in too deep, but I think it’s definitely time for a revisit so I’ll get back to you on that one, Mark!

    6. Welcome to the team, Daniel! I look forward to your articles and perspective on all things film, awards, etc. I love me some Bette Davis, and I agree she is one of the greats. She has me entranced with those crystal ball eyes of hers. And then when she unleashes a monologue…behold the brilliance!

    7. Wow, Danny! Can’t wait to see your thoughts. Correct me if I’m wrong, but was it me that first showed you All About Eve AND All About My Mother…? Anyway, I’ve always enjoyed your film musings – now I’ll get to read them on here!
