‘Kid Canabais’ adds Kellan Lutz, ‘Vampire Diaries’ Nina Dobrev

After being in development for several years, Kid Canabais is finally beining to materialize for the big screen. The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Twilight‘s Kellan Lutz and The Vampire Diaries Nina Dobrev are in talks to join Project X‘s Jonathan Daniel Brown in the film about the true story of suburban teens from Idaho who built a multimillion dollar marijuana empire.

Lutz would likely play the teen’s (Brown) older best friend who loves the thrill of the business but soon gets in over his head. Dobrev, who would have to work through some scheduling issues before her deal can be finalized, would play a “hot-to-trot 19-year-old who has a thing for the best friend and whose father is one of the biggest pot growers in the province.”

The movie will be directed by John Stockwell and start shooting in Canada in July.
