    Happy Mother's Day from the Awards Circuit!

    Mothers, the backbone of many children’s lives.  They protect, provide, and encourage many individuals to be the best person they can be.  Quick shout out to my mom and wife who are the best two women I know.  But we’re a film site…we can’t possibly wish a Happy Mother’s Day without talking about mom’s in our cinema and television screens.  Here I present, the Top Ten Film and Television Moms of the Last Twenty Years!

    • Hello, hello everyone! It was another stupendous week here at The Awards Circuit. We began the week by facing the single greatest success known to movie-kind in a box office weekend: The Avengers! Yep, this superhero flick mowed down every single movie competitor that has ever stood before it. Easily surpassing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2‘s previous record of $168 Million, The Avengers managed to rake in a staggering $207.4 Million in total for its opening weekend. In The Incredible Hulk’s terms: ME HULK! YOU POTTER BOY! CRUSH!

    Oscar Predictions Continue…

    Taking a stab at the Screenplay categories...

    Bill Murray, Laura Linney, and Olivia Williams in "Hyde Park on Hudson"

    Lincoln” is the still frontrunner in many categories as these predictions are updated.  With that status, it also has the most potential to crash and burn.  All eyes will be on Daniel Day-Lewis but outside of the lead performance, will the story be strong enough to pull the audience through?  Time will tell.

    In the Original Screenplay category, you must go with the more original concepts for capturing critical attention.  Quentin Tarantino is a favorite in this category and is fresh off a big loss for “Inglourious Basterds.”  Perhaps with “Django Unchained,” a second chance at redemption can find himself with his second writing Oscar.   Read more on Oscar Predictions Continue……
