The Wachowski siblings’ projects have been very successful at not only redefining science fiction narratives, but in the secrecy their films maintain up until opening. Even the dreadful Speed Racer was able to keep all of it’s plot secrets hidden until the movie came out. But given the high profile nature of their next two projects, people have been clamoring for details.  Vulture has found out some crazy new details regarding their new film Jupiter Rising, starring Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis. Be warned the following synopsis could be a bit spoilery, but the info after the jump.

Jupiter Rising is scheduled to be the first entry in a trilogy and is set in a universe where human beings are “just the Cro-Magnons, or even the Australopithecines, of what beings can ultimately go on to become in the galaxy. Higher forms of life are watching us from other, albeit this time non-meta worlds, but actual, other worlds, as in planets and moons.” The beings share both human and animal DNA, ie. soldiers getting their fearlessness, strength, and a pack mentality from wolves; workers getting their industriousness and reputation for diligence from bees.

The plot of the movie will center around a Russian immigrant (Kunis) working as a maid, who unbeknownst to her possesses the same perfect genetic makeup as the Queen of the Universe. In order to protect the Queen’s immortal rule, an alien bounty hunter (Tatum) is sent to eliminate Kunis’ character, but they end up falling in love. Once that happens, all hell is set to break loose as his employers won’t be happy with his choice to protect the woman.

While the love story bears resemblance to other films, the overall concept is incredibly exciting. Add to the ridiculously entertaining description that Joseph Gordon-Levitt will apparently also be offered a role, though the part is unknown, and you have a recipe for a highly anticipated film.
