I really liked ‘Safety Not Guaranteed’ when I saw it a few weeks back (my review is here). It’s easily one of the 10 best films of the year so far, and might even be one of the 5 best. This has got me very interested in what director Colin Trevorrow and scribe Derek Connolly have planned next for us. Well, Deadline has reported here that it’s another high concept flick with a sci-fi tinge. It’s called ‘The Ambassador’, and after the jump you can see some details. I don’t know much about it, but I liked what I saw from Trevorrow and Connolly, so count me in for this one!
Here’s how the article describes the upcoming project:
The film is set in the United Nations Office of Outer Space Affairs, which not only monitors the universe for signs of life but is prepared to represent humanity if and when aliens arrive on earth. A shy, low-ranking staffer unwittingly makes first contact when he meets a mysterious beautiful woman and must risk more than his job when they are threatened by forces of this world and beyond.
