After receiving an Oscar nomination for his directorial work in The Fighter, David O. Russell returns to screens with his new movie Silver Linings Playbook. Starring Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence and Robert De Niro, the movie is about a former teacher who, after spending four years in a mental institution, moves back in with his mother and tries to reconcile with his ex-wife.  Meanwhile, he strikes up a relationship with a neighbor who also has mental problems. The trailer is pretty funny, if a bit tame and safe for a dark comedy, showing off the good chemistry Lawrence and Cooper have. The film was produced by The Weinstein Co. and will be released on November 21st

    1. Cooper could definitely be an awards sleeper for this. He looks like he delivers a career-best here. DeNiro even looks like he gives his best in a while.

And I’ll see anything with Lawrence in it.

    3. Lawrence is just remarkable, there is just something about her that is beautiful to watch. Her acting techniques and craft are really growing and improving and we haven’t seen something like this since…I am not sure, Jodie Foster I think.

Bradly Cooper is reminding me of Mark Walkbergh in The Fighter, good, but nothing extraordinary.

    5. This is looks incredibly intriguing and interesting. Looks like a fire contender, especially in the Best Actor (it would be a great breakthrough for Cooper) and Best Supp Actress (if they dont place her in the leading field)

    6. Firstly I really struggle with any movie that makes light of mental illness, The Beaver last year was a prime example. However this looks decent enough. Can’t see it making much of a play for Oscars, Cooper seems more likely to be welcomed at the Globes, but who knows.

    7. Cooper looks about as good as he is going to get but Lawrence stands out. Entertaining trailer and looks to be an entertaining film.
