It may be hard to believe, but we now live in a world where both ‘The Avengers’ and ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ have come out in theaters. What superhero is there left now to get excited over? Why, Superman of course, and Christopher Nolan/Zack Snyder’s re-imagining of the character. Warner Brothers let loose yesterday with the first two Teaser Trailers for their upcoming reboot ‘Man of Steel’, and I think they’re great (true teasers, and honestly the early comments saying it’s as if Terrence Malick directed it instead of Snyder look on the money to me). You can take a look at them after the jump and see what you think of course. They’re pretty much identical except for one has Jonathan Kent (played by Kevin Costner) narrating and one has Jor-El (played by Russell Crowe) doing so. Take a gander below…

I love the trailers. As a Superman fan, I was really anticipating seeing these and I like the look and feel Snyder and Nolan have come up with. And having Snyder be more Malick like isn’t a bad thing

This looks incredibly mature for a Zack Snyder film. Then again, all we have are handheld shots of plants and water…
Truth be told, I love the trailers, but I’m nervous. I’m worried this will just be Superman Begins, but I don’t think Nolan as a producer and co-writer would let it be that. I need to see more action footage, I need to hear more dialogue, I need to see General Zod. But as a teaser, it has done it’s job. But I was sold when they casted Michael Shannon and Russell Crowe.
