@ Josh P: That’s exactly my mentality of these awards. I don’t care how much the readership and I disagree (which we usually do), so long as they show their individuality and not just go with the flow of awards season politics.

@ George: Hang on, you’re angry at the AC readership for selecting a mere “fantastic movie” over “a masterclass in film making?” Man, some people are hard to please. I’m perfectly content when a voting body chooses a DECENT movie as their favorite, let alone one I would call fantastic.

I can’t stand Kate Hudson in Almost Famous. She almost ruins the whole movie for me. Other than that the rest of the awards look good to me.

Requiem won over Traffic? Really? Soderbergh even missed out on director, what a shame. Requiem is a fantastic movie, don’t get me wrong, but Traffic is a masterclass in film making. Grow up guys.

Even though I didn’t vote for him, I’m actually glad that Bale won. I like it when the community shows initiative to be independent, even when I don’t necessarily agree. in fact, most of the selections for this ACCA showed a lot of interesting choices. Good on the community for this one.

Looking forward to the Best of the Decade ACCA. Should be interesting.
