Do you think Viola Davis’s snub for “The Help” will propel her to a nomination for “Won’t Back Down”? Can you see the Academy nominating two black performers in the Best Actress category (Davis and Wallis)?

On that subject, who else from the “snubbed” of last year do you think has a chance of parlaying that sympathy to a nomination this year? I’m thinking of people like Nicholas Winding Refn, Ryan Gosling, Olivia Coleman or perhaps even Michael Fassbender.

Assuming quality of the film isn’t a factor, do you think The Academy will be willing to reward Kathryn Bigelow again for “Zero Dark Thirty” or will there be a hesitation because of her recent win for another war-type film? Note: Oliver Stone won Best Director for “Platoon” and three years later won the same award for “Born on the Fourth of July”, though the film didn’t win Best Picture.
