One of the wild cards of the season is Mike Newell’s adaptation of Great Expectations. Featuring a powerful ensemble that includes Helena Bonham Carter, Ralph Fiennes, and Jeremy Irvine, the trailer for the film has just dropped. It’s an interesting look. The question is if it will come out this year.

Helena looks as the strongest part of this movie. I’m not if it can make for awards season, probably just for Baftas. Cinematography, acting, directing doesn’t look gripping. Maybe production design…
Helena’s performance is awards-worthy… this could be finally the oscar for her?

Pardon me but the background score is eerily similar to that of Tinker Tailor .. or am I mistaken?

The music is originally from The Wolfman, but yes it was used in the Tinker Tailor trailer.
Overall, this trailer was kind of underwhelming with the exception of Helena
