Yeah, she's a great actress. From my perspective these would be the 3 best (considering quality of both performance and movie):
1. Autumn Sonata
2. Notorious
3. Casablanca

My favorite Bergman film is Notorious. I've seen it a thousand times. Something about the way she looks (that hair, that gown) during the ball scene is iconic for me. I think her best film performance is in George Cukor's Gaslight. She really deconstructs incredibly in that film as the tortured Paula. I also enjoy her in Saratoga Trunk, which isn't much talked about, but again I love her unique look and the steely determination of her character to wreck revenge. I've just recently seen her in Rossellini's Journey to Italy again and see more depth in her performance each time I view her performance in this fine film. I hate it that she was treated so badly during what must have been such a difficult time for her and wish she could have lived and worked much longer. Gone way too soon!! (Great piece, Mark!)
