  • ‘Silver Linings Playbook’ adds another Audience Award to its collection!

The Hamptons Film Festival is the latest to fete David O. Russell's new film...

    October 8, 2012

Among the already seen Oscar hopefuls, Ben Affleck’s ‘Argo’ may be the one most gushed over, but the most awarded so far has got to be ‘Silver Linings Playbook’, the David O. Russell directed comedy. It was given the prestigious Audience Award at the Toronto Film Festival, with the aforementioned ‘Argo’ the runner-up, but ‘Silver Linings Playbook‘ this weekend added that same award from the Hamptons Film Festival, so it’s certainly not a fluke. After the jump you can see all the awards given out at the fest, but these two films are shaping up to be ones to fear come Oscar time. About Joey Magidson

When he’s not obsessing over new Oscar predictions on a weekly basis, Joey is seeing between 200 and 300 movies a year. He views the best in order to properly analyze the awards race/season each year, but he also watches the worst for reasons he mostly sums up as "so you all don't have to". In his spare time, you can usually find him complaining about the Jets or the Mets. Still, he lives and dies by film. Joey's a voting member of the Internet Film Critics Association as well. Today the IFCA, tomorrow the world!
