I still have no idea what to make of ‘Django Unchained’ in terms of its awards potential, but one things for sure…every look I get of Quentin Tarantino’s new film makes me like it more and more. This latest Trailer features more of the cast, gives everyone more moments to shine, and suggests that this could wind up being one of the most purely enjoyable movies of 2012. Whether it can be an Oscar player remains to be seen, but this is looking like a real Christmas/Hanukkah gift to film fans. You can see the Trailer after the jump, but this flick has got me sold. Behold it below…

    About Joey Magidson

When he’s not obsessing over new Oscar predictions on a weekly basis, Joey is seeing between 200 and 300 movies a year. He views the best in order to properly analyze the awards race/season each year, but he also watches the worst for reasons he mostly sums up as "so you all don't have to". In his spare time, you can usually find him complaining about the Jets or the Mets. Still, he lives and dies by film. Joey's a voting member of the Internet Film Critics Association as well. Today the IFCA, tomorrow the world!

    1. Leo is looking more and more like an awards player to me. I know it was always kind of assumed he had a good shot, but this trailer makes him a real contender in my eyes

    2. It looks good. The characters capture your interest. It feels exciting and a definite “want to see”. Whether or not there is a great motion picture in there remains to be seen.

    3. It’s refreshing to see Leo in a somewhat lighter role compared to his other sure-fire Oscar nominatable performances. While, of course, he’ll deliver as he always does, there’s less inherent pressure inherent with this role and he can have more fun with it. A bit reminiscent of Russell Crowe in 3:10 to Yuma, maybe?

Also good to see Tarantino doing the Western he’s always been aching to do.

      • This is probably a flashier version of Crowe in the 3:10 to Yuma remake, but it’s not a bad comparison…
