  • Paramount to distribute Martin Scorsese’s ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’

Marty and Leo will be gunning for awards with the studio next December...

    October 17, 2012

I don’t think anyone doubted that the new Martin Scorsese/Leonardo DiCaprio wouldn’t come out during the thick of the Oscar season next year, but we’ve got a bit more of a solid confirmation now with the announcement that Paramount will be distributing ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ in 2013. What little we’ve got on it doesn’t necessary suggest that it’ll be a clear and easy sell for the Academy, but its folly to bet against this pairing now. After the jump you can get a quick refresher on what the flick is about, but stay tuned for lots more on this one, as it’s got over a year to prep us for its release. Read on below for a bit more on Marty’s latest collaboration with Leo…

Here’s what IMDb has to say on the plot:

A New York stockbroker refuses to cooperate in a large securities fraud case involving corruption on Wall Street, corporate banking world and mob infiltration.

    About Joey Magidson

When he’s not obsessing over new Oscar predictions on a weekly basis, Joey is seeing between 200 and 300 movies a year. He views the best in order to properly analyze the awards race/season each year, but he also watches the worst for reasons he mostly sums up as "so you all don't have to". In his spare time, you can usually find him complaining about the Jets or the Mets. Still, he lives and dies by film. Joey's a voting member of the Internet Film Critics Association as well. Today the IFCA, tomorrow the world!
