Bioshock is in development hell. Uncharted was moving forward, but things have been quiet for a few months now.

Michael Fassbender producing and staring in Assassin's Creed is certainly intriguing, but I have long stopped getting my hopes up for Video Game movie adaptations.

I think a Bioshock adaptation could be amazing. As for "Uncharted," that game feels like a movie anyways, so I don't think it needs an adaptation. Glad you had confidence in me and thanks for checking the list out!

LOL agreed! Hence this sentence: "The word 'best' should be taken very, very lightly, because it’s almost a known fact that video game movies are synonymous with 'garbage that should be incinerated.'" I'd give none of these films any higher than *** stars. But...I work with what I have :)

I was kind of worried when I saw Mark Wahlberg's picture up there, But I thought "there's no way anyone thought Max Payne was good. Not even someone who hasn't played and loved the the games would like that." Needless to say, I was relieved. I hope the Assassin's Creed game turns out well and doesn't suffer the same fate as some other great franchises. I wonder what happened the the Uncharted and Bioshock adaptations.

I haven't watched any of the sequels nor really have any desire to. I was perfectly satisfied with the first, but I maybe you've convinced me otherwise!

I love your enthusiasm for Mortal Kombat. I also completely understand how Advent Children may be inaccessible to non-FF7 fans, but I judge primarily on the quality of the presentation and my own personal ties to the series. By the way, you guys are making me want to watch Street Fighter now...badly!

I have gotten into strong arguments as to why Mortal Kombat is still the best Video Game movie, as it is one of the few to actually get things right enough to please fans, resemble the game it is based on, while also being a decently entertaining movie for general audiences.

Others, including ones ranking hire on this list just don't match all those elements (Resident Evil), with Advent Children, in particular feeling like it is exclusively for fans of FFVII, making it tough to consider for this kind of list at all.

Each his own of course, but I'm all for MK

(Also, Street Fighter is superb, goofy fun)

I preferred the second and fourth Resident Evil movies to the first one. They were awful, but 2 and 4 were the most like the games (a plus) and had the most survival/horror elements. They actually feel like zombie movies. But Resident Evil 5? I haven't laughed so much since The Hangover it was that bad.

All good points, but if Sephiroth didn't make some type of cameo, the fans' screams in outrage would have destroyed an entire nation.
