When the weather outside is frightful…watch a movie! Inspired by Kel Doucette’s podcast question and the Frankenstorm currently bearing down on the East Coast (stay safe everyone!), we thought we’d engage in a little discussion about our favorite horror movie experiences. My personal favorite was when I went to go see The Omen remake on 06/06/06 and being in a theater with a ton of (rambunctious and annoying) high school students. Mysteriously, the movie cut off halfway through and I kid you not, half of those students ran outside! It was the most hilarious thing, everyone thinking that the Devil had caused the movie to malfunction. Of course they all returned trying to act like they were too cool for school, but the damage to their egos had been done.
So here’s your chance to join in on the discussion: What was your favorite experience watching a horror film? Tell us in the comments!

I rarely watch horror films in the theater but last someone acted immature during Shark Night 3D and that was more entertaining than the actual film

I think I’ve told this story on here before, but it fits, so I’ll tell it again. I remember when I was seven, and I saw Alien for the first time. Watching the gut-busting scene through the holes in my blanket is one of my fondest movie memories.

I hid under the couch cushions while watching Them when I was about five or six. I saw the original House on Haunted Hill on Halloween night at about the same age and nearly threw-up I was so scared. I’ve also had to argue, insist, and practically drag my friends to see Paranormal Activity, Insidious, and The Cabin in the Woods at midnight on their respective opening nights. In each case my friends were like “oh, it’s just another one of James’ stupid horror movies” or “I’ve never even heard of it,” and in each case the friends that actually went with me profoundly thanked me later.
