Steven Soderbergh’s next film, Side Effects, debuted a brand new trailer today. Somewhat similarly themed to last year’s medical drama, Contagion, this psychological thriller deals with the unexpected side effects caused by an anxiety pill. See the official trailer after the jump.
Rooney Mara and Channing Tatum play Emily and Martin, a successful New York couple whose life is compromised when Emily’s psychologist, Jude Law, prescribes her an anxiety medication with strange side effects.
Written by frequent Soderbergh scribe, Scott Z. Burns, the film is set to hit theaters February 8, 2013.

Let’s hope it’s more climactic and character-driven than Contagion was. How a film like that could waste so man stars is beyond me. I really wish Soderbergh would make a film as great and powerful as Traffic again.

I still think his most successful use of an ensemble cast were the Ocean’s films. Those were just too much fun. But yes, he’s gone a ways off from Traffic as well, Last year’s Haywire was kind of a mess, too.
