I’m with Terrence all the way with the love for “Cloud Atlas.” I’m a huge champion for Doona Bae and Tom Tykwer and company’s score. I’m hoping that it will get nominated for something.
This is the first year that I can remember where there is no front-runner for Best Animated Feature. Every other year that has either been a clear Pixar favorite, or another strong contender that blows the others away (i.e. “Wallace and Gromit”, “Rango”). This year, however, the Pixar film is not a strong contender, and all the other films have something going for them as well. I really need the precursors help on this one.
Ann Dowd could become this year’s Jacki Weaver, especially since there’s the final spot in Best Supporting Actress that’s up for grabs. What Dowd needs is a major precursor citation, like the NBR. That would help in her favor.
I can tell you that I do not approve of that lineup of the Adapteds in Academy Idol. The only film I voted for was “Argo” and even that was passively. Looks like I’ll need to visit this site quite a bit to help “Cloud Atlas”, “Lincoln” and “Moonrise Kingdom” get pushed through.

Great podcast as always wanna share some thoughts
1. Went 3/5 in my academy idol predictions Left out Beasts Of The Southern Wild and The Sessions for TDKR and Lincoln
2. And with last minute changes I went 7/10 in the Wild Cards Left out Anna Karenina, Avengers, and Seven Psychopaths for Life of Pi, Promised Land and Magic Mike
3. Saw The Guilt Trip earlier today Barbra Streisand steals the show. She’s far from being an Oscar contender but I’m hoping she gets in at the Globes
4. HOOPER IS NOT WINNING HIS SECOND OSCAR. IT’S TOO SOON.

Great wild card picks. Wonder what will end up winning this year?

Excellent line-up this year Academy Idol. I think it’s one of the strongest groups that you’ve ever had. However, those are some pretty horrific wild card picks. Anna Karenina, Wreck-It Wralph, Seven Psychopaths and Cloud Atlas over a masterpiece like Life of Pi? Yikes!

Life Of Pi drops the ball in its pivotal final moments. That’s a huge screenplay issue and limiting for a lot of people I have talked to. “Wait? You mean that’s it?” is a prevailing opinion among a lot of people I know who have seen it, both inside and outside of the film writing community. Could have played a role….
