They completely left Lincoln out? Bradley Cooper? Bigelow is going to win AGAIN for very similar movies (I haven’t watched 0D30 and I don’t like spoilers, so, sorry if I’m wrong)? No Hathaway? I’m starting to get concerned…

Yes me too… Bradley Cooper over Jennifer Lawrence? No Anne Hathaway? And Kathryn Bigelow is an overrated director in my opinion

Well that came out weird… Complete omission of the master… It’s early in the season and the NBR is usually “wrong” but I do like the boost for Bradley Cooper

Well, I’m not surprised by what we got. Perks of Being A Wallflower was the outlier (there’s always one), which is cool with me, and I’m glad to see Django here, but the omission of The Master is odd and…Looper for Original Screenplay? I don’t really see it. I’m also a bit dubious about Promised Land, but we’ll see.

I’m predicting Zero Dark Thirty for Best Picture.

All around solid selection of winners. Very Happy for “Zero Dark”, Quvenzhané Wallis, Looper and Leo.

Now LA will do everything they could to appear the most sophisticated critics’ group. They love to be contrary. I believe THE MASTER could really win big time there, with Phoenix, Seymour Hoffman, directing, cinematography, music and picture. And of course Emmanuelle Riva.

Strange to see Looper win original screenplay when competing with the big boys like Boal and Tarantino.

I love these winners! ZDT, Bradley Cooper I completely agree with, happy for Leo and Ann Dowd. Compliance was a great film! And the push for Looper and Jessica Chastain is great too!

Hope Quvenzhané Wallis’ oscar chances have increased now! I know she won’t win, but I would love for her to have a nomination!

She’s vulnerable but I wouldn’t be surprised if she made it. She needs Globe and Critics Choice.

I wish I had the courage to predict Ann Dowd winning, but I did post a comment earlier saying that she would have a real chance at staying in this race with a win from the NBR. It only solidifies the argument that she could become this year’s Jacki Weaver, who received the same award for “Animal Kingdom” and then went on to be nominated (ironic since Weaver is also in a film this year). Interesting slate of choices, though I’m saddened by the shut-out for “The Master”. If this film misses LA too, then it’s chances are virtually non-existent. It needs the critics to push it through, but it looks like “Zero Dark Thirty” is going to be the critical darling instead.

SO happy for Ann Dowd!!! LOVE IT!!!

Beasts of the Southern Wild not considered an Independent Film? And yet Arbitrage, Quartet and End of Watch are?

LOL. I know. I called Chastain and Dowd was listed as my surprise. NBR is damn near impossible. Cooper’s win makes massive sense to me now.

With New York and NBR, does this mean Hathaway’s not the Slam Dunk we think she is, or just an oversilght?

I think she´s going to win where it ‘really’ counts – globes, sag, bfca and, possibily, bafta…

Could just be some backlash against the pre-ordained frontrunner. She’s still sitting pretty either way.

That’s What I figured as well, I guess if she loses the Globe, then it could be a wide open race which will make it fun
