    About Terence Johnson

When he's not enduring Shade Samurai training from Victoria Grayson, you can find Terence spends his time being an avid watcher of television, Criterion film collector, Twitter addict, and awards season obsessive. Opinionated but open minded, ratchet but with class, Terence holds down the fort as the producer of the Power Hour podcast and will soon be taking over Historical Circuit, bringing you the best films and hidden gems from the lovely history of cinema. As the only person with a degree in a STEM field (B.S. in Civil Engineering), he's holding it down for the nerds who love film. You can follow him on Twitter at @LeNoirAuteur.

    2. ann dowd may win a few critics awards, but i doubt she’ll get nominated for an oscar. this is my honest ideal of critics awards, you know an award we think is the best performance in any of the acting categories.any one who wins an acting award from any of the critics may get nominated or not for an oscar or even a golden globe, sag or bafta.

      • Never count out the power of critics awards and what their recognition can do for “the little guy.” Just ask Keisha Castle-Hughes (Whale Rider), Catalina Sandino Moreno (Maria Full of Grace), Richard Jenkins (The Visitor), and Melissa Leo (Frozen River), to name a few. The precursors can assist with putting the spotlight on great performances in smaller films, and the same might be true for Ms. Dowd this year.
