    6. NEED LA and maybe NYO to give Joaquin Phoenix an award here. If there’s one thing to award The Master for, it’s his performance. Enjoying the Beasts and Perks love though.

    10. Theory: Zero Dark Thirty wins everything, but Tom Hooper uses magic to solidify his reputation as the Critics’ Favorite-Killer.

    15. Let’s keep The Master around…PTA deserves a win at the Oscars for something. Pretty sure that Inherent Vice won’t completely be the Academy’s cup of tea.

    17. Usually LAFCA try their hardest to go against what everyone is whispering about. They also lean foreign a lot. The real winners today were Emmanuella Riva and Jennifer Lawrence. After Chastain numerous early wins and buzz they needed it. The Master needed to win LAFCA to remain in discussion in any category and today they proved that they’re not dead, yet. The same can’t be said about Argo. No Boston citation, no mention of their supporting players. I am considering the movie pretty dead and at this point a category filler. Dwight Henry’s win should cement a nomination for Oscars, unlike Ezra Miller who needs to win more to be taken more seriously. Season is heating up!

    18. I just have to say, I LOVE the attention being given to Denis Lavant. I don’t know if this could translate to some Oscar attention for Holy Motors, but it would make my day if it did.

    19. Yay Emmanuelle Riva!!! Hope she keeps it up! The Globe for Best Actress Drama is definitely between her and Chastain… The later may be the favorite, but Riva does have a chance…

    20. I’m a bit surprised about how well the Master did. Especially Amy Adams. But I’m not surprised about Rivas sweep today. It’s gonna be a close race at the globes and Oscars for her and chastain.

      • Don’t forget Jennifer Lawrence. It seems to be between Chastain, Riva and Lawrence
