Coming Soon…ACCA and the Awards Circuit Staff Awards!

w0010243If you have been on Facebook or Twitter in the past two days, you may have noticed a few FYC ads popping up on the staff’s pages. That’s because for the first time ever, the Awards Circuit staff will be throwing their name into the ring of the critics groups that host their own awards! While you can see our intrepid editor’s choices coming together right now, you’ll soon be able to see what the staff collectively has to offer. The Awards Circuit Staff Awards nominations will be announced on Jan 20th and the winners will be announced on Jan 28.

In addition to the staff awards, the ACCA awards that gives you, the loyal readers, the chance to voice your own opinions about the film year, will open for voting on January 14th.

If you have anything you want the staff to consider before our voting closes (Jan 18) please share in the comments! until then take a look at some of the fun FYC ads designed solely by the staff (and their friends *cough Mark and Joey cough*) after the jump!

Disclaimer: This is simply for fun and not meant to act as official FYC ads for any studio. Although we do hope the Academy considers these films :)

The FYC ads remind me of the old “Bait an Oscar” days. It’s fun to see them come back, and I’m looking forward to the Staff Awards. As much fun as it can be to watch others give out accolades, it will always be more enjoyable to actually participate in that process. On that note, ACCA is one of my favorite features on this site, and I’m always excited when it returns.

May be a silly question, but just for clarity sake: is the January 18th deadline only for the staff awards or is that also when ACCA votes have to be in as well?

Ok. Good, because that gives me enough time to sneak in “On the Road” before I officially vote on ACCA.

How is Emma Watson not included in the ad for Perks of Being a Wallflower when practically everyone/everything else is?

For your consideration – Mike Birbiglia, Best Original Screenplay for Sleepwalk With Me

Just because no one’s paid him due attention.

Clayton, as someone who has been an avid supporter of the ACCA, would it be possible for people to only vote once? Maybe by registration or something similar, just so we can try to emulate more like an awards and less like Academy Idol?

Each ip address can only vote once. It’s been that way for sometime. Of course, there are people who get around it somehow but for the most part. Everyone votes once.

Oh for some reason I thought we could vote multiple times…I think there was year which voted more than once? Must’ve been a glitch.
