BAFTA announces their nominees tomorrow. This is the first time they haven’t released a long list so we could see what was in contention. So we’re pretty much just throwing darts at this point. Anna Karenina, Les Miserables, and Lincoln should have a decent showing followed by Skyfall and The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. You can include your predictions in the comment section.

Some interesting variations there. I think I like your BAFTA Best Supporting Actor line up better than the current predictions for Oscar in that category.

For the last few years, the BAFTAs have tried their best to avoid the whole ‘British bias’ in their nominations and awards. Last year, all the four acting winners at BAFTA replicated their results at the Oscars. Also, BAFTA actually bothered to nominate ‘Drive’ for Best Pic last year, and the Oscars conveniently ignored that wonderful film.
I definitely believe ‘Amour’ will perform much better at the BAFTAs than the Oscars. I think ZDT will definitely do a decent showing (in 2010, it was the BAFTAs who gave Best Director to Kathryn Bigelow and Best Pic to ‘The Hurt Locker’ two whole weeks before the Oscars repeated the same).
And I think ‘Les Miserables’ qualifies as a British film (no matter what the AFI says), at least according to the London Critics Circle. And why is ‘Skyfall’ not named in the category of ‘Best British Film’ in your predictions?

No Hooper and Spielberg for director? Oh wow – not pleased (especially about the Hooper snub)
