    1. Very interesting nominations…and I actually like some of them. Emmanuelle Riva!!! The ‘Amour’ love is wonderful to see here! :D

It’s a daring move to leave out Spielberg. But you can’t blame BAFTA, the directing category is extremely overcrowded and hyper-competitive this year. But, will the Academy follow suit? Makes the directing category all the more interesting now. Also, no Tom Hooper (very strange that DGA nominated him, but his own country did not) and no David O. Russell for directing.

Ben Affleck for Lead Actor, who would’ve thought that? I seriously let out a loud gasp of surprise when I heard his name being announced. Just imagine what’s going to happen if he gets nominated for Lead Actor tomorrow as well! The Brits definitely like him, don’t they? Although I’m glad one of the ‘Django’ boys received an acting nod, Christoph Waltz being nominated surprises me. I was expecting Leo DiCaprio.

Helen Hunt gets nominated, but not John Hawkes, I don’t know what to make of that. The acting trio from ‘The Master’ is there, and so is PTA for writing. I guess they’re safe now. Javier Bardem and Judi Dench both make their appearance for ‘Skyfall’!!! Don’t expect them to show up tomorrow though.

Don’t think ‘Anna Karenina’ will get as many technical nominations as it did here. And I so knew ZDT & Kathryn Bigelow would get nominated in their categories.

I think it’s going to be a ‘Lincoln’ v/s ‘Argo’ battle in this one.

    2. Maggie Smith not nominated for Marigold? Surprising. Loved the mention for Dench in Skyfall though.

    3. Clayton, I don´t think Maggie Smith will be nominated tomorrow… I think you should replace her for Amy Adams while you still can…

    4. very few surprises. Affleck as best is one. They don’t have a best song category?

    5. Liked some of the surprises. I think it’s safe to say for the Baftas, No Speilberg? Affleck in acting? It’s gonna be an Argo night. And regardless if Spielberg is nominated tomorrow (hope not, but it’s likely), if Affleck lands a best actor nod, it’s gonna be an Argo night come Oscar night too. Rather see that than Lincoln (which I still don’t think has a chance in winning BD or BP.) The highlight though? Seven Psychopaths!

    6. I’m so glad to see Seven Psychopaths here. It won’t win, but that doesn’t matter. I just hope it gets a few more people to see it.

Ben Affleck’s Best Actor nomination for Argo, however, is ridiculous (over Denis Lavant? Over…anyone, really?), and I will not be happy if the Academy follows suit.

    7. The nominations were pretty interesting when they came out last night, but overall there weren’t too many surprises, short of Skyfall not doing as well as expected and BAFTA proving they really like Ben Affleck…
