Every year we have to accept the fact that not everything or everyone deserving of an Oscar nomination will receive one. We all have our favorite “snubs” to gripe about, whether it is the score for Cloud Atlas, the screenplay for Looper, or the craziness that is the Best Director field. After the jump, have a look at a nice retrospective on most of the people that Oscar forgot about this year.

    About Mark Johnson

Lover of all things film and Oscar. Fantasy sports’ equivalent of George Steinbrenner. Your very own Han Solo, making friends all over the movie-loving galaxy in spite of himself. When he’s not ranking just about everything or dominating boardgames, Mark is breaking down the Oscar race 24/7 with Rain Man-like stats and knowledge. In his downtime, you can find him commiserating with other Northeast Ohio sports fans because a hero isn’t complete without a little heartbreak. If Lost, Homeland, Breaking Bad, Mad Men and Survivor are your style, then congratulations, you have something in common with this inglourious basterd.

    3. I am sad that Dwight Henry was passed over for Best Supporting Actor for Beasts of the Southern Wild but I am grateful for the 4 other nominations :-) #quvenzhaneWallis. The best supporting actor category is so dull this year. Hopefully they’ll announce it first and get it out of the way.
