    About Mark Johnson

Lover of all things film and Oscar. Fantasy sports’ equivalent of George Steinbrenner. Your very own Han Solo, making friends all over the movie-loving galaxy in spite of himself. When he’s not ranking just about everything or dominating boardgames, Mark is breaking down the Oscar race 24/7 with Rain Man-like stats and knowledge. In his downtime, you can find him commiserating with other Northeast Ohio sports fans because a hero isn’t complete without a little heartbreak. If Lost, Homeland, Breaking Bad, Mad Men and Survivor are your style, then congratulations, you have something in common with this inglourious basterd.

    3. I’d hardly consider Gone with the Wind a romance, considering Scarlette could care less about Rhett. The romances I like are usually either (A. Ones where the couple starts out in love and then falls out of it, (B. One-day-flings, or (C. Depressing deconstructions of genre cliches and archetypes. So in other words, I’m hardly romantic. I’ll pick one of each without ranking them.

      One Day Fling: Before Sunrise

Falling Out of Love: The Wings of the Dove

Deconstruction: (500) Days of Summer OR Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

OK, I cheated on that last one. Don’t make me pick.

      • You probably haven’t seen GWTW in a long time if you think Scarlett doesn’t care about Rhett.

      • Vertigo definitely counts! Lots of passion and romance in that one, though it is a darker, more obsessive love story.
