About Joey Magidson

When he’s not obsessing over new Oscar predictions on a weekly basis, Joey is seeing between 300 and 350 movies a year. He views the best in order to properly analyze the awards race/season each year, but he also watches the worst for reasons he mostly sums up as "so you all don't have to". In his spare time, you can usually find him complaining about the Jets or the Mets. Still, he lives and dies by film. Joey's a voting member of Indiewire's Criticwire Network as well as the Internet Film Critics Association.

The really need to grow some balls and go after more controversial targets.

      koook160 (Robert MacFarlane),

      Any sugestions for 2012 specifically?

      • GL

Battlefield and/or John Carter? I mean come on, the Razzies now have become the “pretentious, let’s go after this franchise or this actor or actress or this movement so we look cool and hype and internet friendly award”

If they really wanted to award the worst they would have given to either of the aforementioned films.

        • GL- I can think of even more deserving crap films from 2012…

      • Moviewatcher- Oh boy could I have come up with some better/worse choices, but that’s me…

      • koook160 (Robert MacFarlane)

        Prometheus, maybe?

        • Phill

Prometheus at least deserved to be nominated for worst movie. Twilight is crap and we all know it before it even hits theaters. Prometheus was one of the biggest disappointments (If not, the biggest disappointment) of 2012.

        • That was more disappointing than outright terrible…

    • They likely never will Koook…

  • Patrick Murray

Woah big upset in the worst actor category…thought R-Patts had it locked up but Sandler stole it from him.

    • They almost never fail to give it to Adam Sandler, regardless of if he’s bad or just mediocre…

      • Phill

Totally unrelated Joey, but I’m getting ready to watch Ruby Sparks based on your recommendation. Better be good!

  • Jessie Makowski

    Boring choices people!

  • JamDenTel

Anyone who saw The Oogieloves and DIDN’T vote for it for Worst Picture doesn’t know what they’re talking about.

    • As usual though, most didn’t bother seeing what was likely the actual worst…

      • JamDenTel

They haven’t made a really good decision for Worst Picture since Gigli, honestly…

        • They rarely give Worst Picture to the actual worst…
