Well this is it, the last hurrah. This year at the Academy Awards the actresses brought their A game when it came to the fashion. Making this list was difficult because a lot of the stars looked simply fantastic while few disappointed, which further proves this was a great year for Oscar. Here is my list of the best dressed women at the Academy Awards.
Sometimes simplicity is the way to go. Les Miserables star Samantha Barks looks sexy in this black Valentino dress. Her updo and necklace fit perfectly with the plunging neckline.
Oscar nominee Jessica Chastain always knows how to keep it classy and elegant. This Giorgio Armani dress is beautiful but Chastain should have worn a necklace to give the outfit a bit of pop.
Yet another example of how simple is stunning. Oscar nominee Queen Latifah hit all the right notes with this white Badgley Mischka gown.
Oscar winner Nicole Kidman is famous for setting the fashion bar high when it comes to the Academy Awards. This year she didn’t disappoint in L’Wren Scott.
Oscar nominee Naomi Watts spent a lot of time aiding in the design of this gorgeous gown. This Armani Prive gown fits so well on her body and the bold color stands out in the crowd.
This is the type of dress you want to accept an Oscar in, take notes Anne Hathaway. Oscar nominee Amy Adams looks perky and charming in this Oscar de la Renta gown. With an embellished bottom and a plain bust, she could have added a bit of sparkle around her neck. Otherwise, she always knows how to pull it together on the red carpet.
Oscar winner Sandra Bullock looks beautiful in this Elie Saab dress.
Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence looked regal in Dior Houte Couture. The best addition to this dress was the necklace hanging down her back. Lawrence chose the perfect dress to accept her first Oscar in. She looked age appropriate and divine.
I don’t normally add George Clooney’s arm candy onto my best dressed list, but this time I couldn’t resist. Stacy Keibler is immaculate in this Naeem Khan gown.
Les Miserables star Amanda Seyfried has a lousy attitude on the red carpet, but when she shuts her mouth all you see is an actress looking sophisticated in Alexander McQueen. Amanda Seyfried is my choice for Best Dressed at this year’s Academy Awards. It was a tough decision putting all these women in order but Seyfried stood out the most for me.
I’ve grown up always being able to share my love of film with others. What makes it particularly important to me is that my passion started with my parents and my best friend Caitlin. Whether it has been spending the whole day at the theater with my parents, or sitting on the floor of a movie store for hours with Caitlin, this love of mine has always been a huge part of who I am. This love affair has been going strong for over a decade. My name is Anna and I’m in love with film.
