One of the big pieces in the Oscar puzzle has found a home. Foxcatcher, the new drama from Bennett Miller, was picked up by Sony Pictures Classics and will be released on December 20th, prime position for an awards run. Many were wondering whether the film would come out at all this year, but SPC has decided to give it a big awards push. The move is one of the many changes in the race that have been announced this week and reunites Miller with the studio who distributed Capote. Foxcatcher, recounts the true story of an Olympic wrestling champion (Channing Tatum) whose brother (Mark Ruffalo), a fellow Olympian, was murdered by a paranoid schizophrenic millionaire heir (Steve Carell).

How do we think the film will fare this award season? Bennett Miller is 2-2 in terms of getting his films nominated for Best Picture, could it happen again?
