Enjoying the pilots so far? Me neither. At least we still have movies.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2‘ (Sony) topped the daily charts until ‘Gravity‘ (WB) blew it away. The release of ‘Runner Runner’ (Fox) puts it on the international charts grossing high in Russia, ‘Prisoners‘ (WB) banking in the United Kingdom, and ‘Instructions Not Included‘ (LGF) blasted away the international charts in Mexico. This week, our favorite inventor of food monsters takes #1, Jake Gyllenhaal and Hugh Jackman runs into #2, ‘Rush (2013)‘ (Uni.) is up 34 ranks, ‘Don Jon‘ (Rela.) partied into #4, and ‘Baggage Claim‘ (FoxS) flew into #5. The second chapter of ‘Insidious‘ took #6, ‘The Family (2013)‘ graced into #7, and the hilarious comedy about the new father and smart young daughter took #8. An unusual, stitched together, fake family transporting drugs drove into #9 as ‘Lee Daniels’ The Butler‘ (Wein.) dropped a few ranks down to #10.


This weekend, Sandra Bullock and George Clooney drifted into #1, ‘Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2‘ took #2, ‘Runner Runner’ in at #3 and ‘Prisoners‘ takes #4 without competition. ‘Rush (2013)‘ took #5, ‘Don Jon‘ landed at #6, ‘Baggage Claim‘ (FoxS) flew into #7, ‘Insidious Chapter 2‘ (FD) scared into #8, ‘Pulling Strings‘ (LGF) swung into #9, and ‘Enough Said‘ (FoxS) laughed into #10, up a rank because of the recent Emmys win by Julia Louis-Dreyfus, though not much by all standards. Zac Efron’s return from the darker realms of addiction landed him on ‘Parkland‘ (EXCL) at #24, ‘Linsanity‘ (KE) is released to #31, with #38 going to ‘A.C.O.D.‘ (TFA), a funny film featuring Adam Scott, Richard Jenkins, Catherine O’Hara and Amy Poehler.
