This week, ‘Thor: The Dark World‘ () rose up on the international charts, ‘Gravity‘ (WB) at a not-even-close 2nd and ‘Captain Phillips‘ (Sony) at a closer 3rd. ‘Ender’s Game‘ (LG/S) started at #1 on the daily charts for much of this week except ‘Last Vegas‘ (CBS) on Friday, just before ‘Thor‘ took #1 on Saturday. This week, Asa Butterfield’s brilliant mind guided the game into #1, ‘Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa‘ (Par.) drops slightly to #2, the partying old guys in at #3, with the famous voices of comedians in at #4. As our favorite astronauts yield to the power of gravity, Tom Hanks steers the ship close at #6, ‘12 Years A Slave‘ (FoxS) escaped to #7, ‘Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2‘ (Sony) rained into #8, ‘The Counselor‘ (Fox) just ahead of ‘Carrie (2013)‘ (SGem) in at #10. Just outside of the top 10, the sweet love story ‘About Time‘ (Uni.) stopped into #12, ‘Dallas Buyers Club‘ (Focus) took to #31, ‘Diana‘ (EOne) at #36, just barely ahead of Keanu Reeve’s ‘Man of Tai Chi‘ (RTWC). This weekend, notable mentions go to ‘Thor‘ with a groundbreaking $86 million this opening weekend, ‘The Book Thief‘ (Fox) breaks into #24 and ‘The Armstrong Lie‘ (SPC) raced into #33, much worse than predicted. Upcoming releases include; ‘Ilya and Emilia Kabakov: Enter Here‘ on November 13th and ‘The Starving Games‘ on November 14th in limited release , ‘12-12-12‘ and ‘Nebraska‘ are just two of several that will be released on November 15th.
