    Loving the Rush love.

  • Joey Magidson

    Well, that happened…

Oprah was NOT nominated, by the way! June Squibb from “Nebraska” was.

      Fixed. Typo

  • Sam Coff

Supporting Actor is just plain WEIRD now

  • Manning Franks

Well I wasn’t surprised about the Saving Mr Banks snub and the Mandela surprise, it is the Hollywood Foreign Press after all. Although the absence of the Butler was a jaw dropper!!!

  • Mikael Faleiros de Albuquerque

    The Butler snubbed. LOVE IT.

  • Anthony Moseley

I had a feeling Elba was going to get the nomination over Whitaker and Jackman. After all, the Globes do like him (they awarded him for Luther a couple of years ago), and with the recent passing of Mandela, I can see the film getting a bit of a boost. I don’t think it will translate to any Oscar love though.

Anyways, most of what I predicted happened. Sad to see Gandolfini snubbed (though wasn’t he campaigning for lead in the Globes?), though I still think the Academy will recognize him. Also, surprised to see all the Rush love. Honestly, I think this is the first year that the Comedy category is just as interesting as the Drama category.
