birthofanation_1Fox Searchlight Pictures just announced their release date for Nate Parker’s upcoming “The Birth of a Nation,” which debuted at the Sundance Film Festival last month to outstanding reviews.  The film was purchased by Fox Searchlight in what has been recorded as the largest film sale in any festival history.

The film will open in the heat of the next Oscar season on October 7, 2016.  Expect some more festival activity such as Telluride and maybe even a New York Film Festival high profile slot.
