2. Amy Adams

BEST PERFORMANCE: “Junebug” (2005)

In a 10-year span, Amy Adams has broken out in films like “Junebug,” to leading the charge in David O. Russell’s “American Hustle,” where she nabbed her fifth career Oscar nomination. Bringing two outstanding performances in 2016 in “Arrival” and “Nocturnal Animals,” Adams continues to build her “overdue” narrative to her benefit. Blockbusters like “Justice League” and the highly anticipated sequel to “Enchanted” (titled “Disenchanted“) will keep her from Oscar fodder for a little bit, but we’re sure there’s someone out there, currently, writing her next big role.
