2017 Guild Predictions: WGA and Art Directors Weighing In

6

A lot of major guilds will be announcing in the next seven days. It seemed like an appropriate time to offer up some predictions on how each of them will go. The major guilds that are announcing are:

  • Writers Guild of America (Wednesday, Jan. 4)
  • Art Directors Guild (Thursday, Jan. 5)
  • BAFTA Nominations (Tuesday, Jan. 10)
  • Producers Guild of America (Tuesday, Jan. 10)

All this is happening with the Academy Awards voting opening, which happens on Thursday, Jan. 5 at 8:00 PT. Voting closes on Friday, Jan. 13.  So what’s happening before the 13th?

  • Golden Globes (Sunday, Jan. 8)
  • Directors Guild of America (Thursday, Jan. 12)

Those offer lots of “guidance” but let’s be honest. Oscar will do what they want to do. Always. These can offer “clues” but little else.

Down below, you’ll see the predictions for the WGA and Art Directors. Final predictions for the Golden Globes will land on Friday with PGA and BAFTA predictions dropping on Monday morning.
