Gay and Lesbian Entertainment Critics Association Names ‘Moonlight’ Best of Year

Gay and Lesbian Entertainment Critics Association

The Gay and Lesbian Entertainment Critics Association announced its winners for its annual Dorian Awards today. The group crowned “Moonlight” Film of the Year, as well as LGBTQ Film of the Year. Director Barry Jenkins took home Director and Screenplay of the Year prizes. Mahershala Ali also took home Film Performance of the Year for an Actor.

La La Land” nabbed the group’s Visually Striking Film of the Year honors.

Samantha Bee’s “Full Frontal,” “The People v. O.J. Simpson” and Sarah Paulson were some of the winners on the TV side.

The association is comprised of 170-plus film and TV critics and entertainment journalists from the U.S., Canada and the U.K.
