The film tells the story of Belle (Watson), a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who becomes a prisoner to a beast (Dan Stevens) in his castle. Then, despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast’s hideous exterior and realize the kind heart and soul of the true Prince within.

Ewan McGregor, Ian McKellen, Kevin Kline, Luke EvansJosh Gad, Stanley Tucci, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Audra McDonald also star.

“Beauty and the Beast” is directed by Oscar winner Bill Condon from a screenplay by Evan Spiliotopoulos and Stephen Chbosky based on the 1991 animated film. Mandeville Films’ David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman are producing.

Eight-time Oscar-winning composer Alan Menken provides the score. Menken won two Academy Awards (Best Original Score and Best Song) for the 1991 animated film. The new film will include new recordings of the original songs written by Menken and Howard Ashman. In addition, it will feature several new songs written by Menken and three-time Oscar winner Tim Rice.
