Fans of “Far From the Madding Crowd” and similar period films will have another title to look out for this summer, when “My Cousin Rachel” releases.
The film stars Rachel Weisz and Sam Claflin in the screen adaptation of Daphne du Maurier’s eponymous novel. Director Roger Michell (“Notting Hill”) adapted the book for the screen.
Here’s the official synopsis:
A dark romance, MY COUSIN RACHEL tells the story of a young Englishman who plots revenge against his mysterious, beautiful cousin, believing that she murdered his guardian. But his feelings become complicated as he finds himself falling under the beguiling spell of her charms.
