‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ Sequel Set Moments After ‘Avengers 4’ Ending

We’re still a few weeks away from the release of “Spider-Man: Homecoming” into theaters, but the raves are coming in hot and heavy. Right here on the site, our review proclaims it to be among Marvel’s best ever. A sequel was always inevitable, but come July 7th, audiences will be demanding one. Well, Marvel and Sony are already making plans, including a 2019 release date, with one new detail revealing when the film will be set. In fact, it comes from none other than producer Amy Pascal.

Over at Heroic Hollywood, a story contains the tidbit from Pascal that the “Spider-Man: Homecoming” sequel will be set literally moments after the fourth “Avengers” movie ends. “Avengers 4” is essentially the end of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know, so this sequel will be of utmost importance to the new story being told. The MCU will clearly look very different when the sequel to “Spider-Man: Homecoming” comes out in two years.

Here is Pascal’s quote:

“What I think we should focus on is this Spider-Man who started in Civil War and then has this movie, and then will be in the Avengers movie. And we are starting now the next one which will start a few minutes after Avengers 4 wraps as a story”
