One final ACCA 1992 FYC: I just watched Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me for the first time and while it’s definitely…something, Sheryl Lee as Laura Palmer absolutely deserves to be in consideration for Best Actress (Ray Wise wasn’t half-bad either).

Shameless is an hour long not 30 minutes. They were in the drama category but appealed to the Academy and got moved to comedy.

    • Maybe we should try watching it. Thank you for the clarification!

  • Baggins

  • Jeff Marshall

If actors were allowed multiple nominations in the same category in a given year, can you think of a year in which an actor would have scored two nominations? (e.g. Keaton – Annie Hall/Looking for Mr. Goodbar; Streep – Out of Africa/Plenty; Day-Lewis – In the Name of the Father/Age of Innocence)

    • Baggins

Robert Downey Jr. – Tropic Thunder/Iron Man
Alicia Vikander – The Danish Girl/Ex Machina

    Cinephile Showdown:

Rise of the Planet of the Apes OR Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
Leon: The Professional OR The Fifth Element
Shaun of the Dead OR Hot Fuzz
    Memento OR The Dark Knight
    Wonder Woman OR Spider-Man: Homecoming

    Power Hour Question:

What were some of the loudest reactions that you have ever heard from an audience in a movie theater?

For me, I remember during Rise of the Planet of the Apes, a crowd of people just went completely *ahem* bananas during that “No!” scene.
