Bleecker Street released a new clip of its upcoming film, “Breathe.”
The film marks the directorial debut of Andy Serkis. The iconic actor is best known for revolutionizing motion capture performing with roles in “The Lord of the Rings” and the “Planet of the Apes” franchises. Serkis is already in post-production on his next directorial feature, “The Jungle Book,” due out in 2018.
“Breathe” is the true story of Robin and Diana Cavendish. After Robin is stricken with polio, they are determined to live out their lives. Given only months to live, the couple is determined that he spend his remaining days at home, rather than trapped in a hospital bed. Aided by family and a talented inventor, Robin lives past his expectancy. The couple then devotes their time to helping other polio patients.
The film stars Academy Award nominee Andrew Garfield (“Hacksaw Ridge”) as Robin, and Golden Globe winner Claire Foy (“The Crown”) as Diana. Hugh Bonneville (“Downton Abbey”) plays inventor Teddy Hall, and Tom Hollander (“Tulip Fever”) as Diana’s brother.
The new clip shown below highlights the decision to take Robin home from the hospital.
“Breathe” is in theaters on October 13.
